Owner Trevor Miller was previously a barber for 17 years. With a history of entrepreneurship in the family, Miller decided to open his own business in 2013. It was a blend of his interests – cutting hair and detailing automobiles. Both sides of his business were successful, but as his employed barbers began to branch out on their own, Miller decided to focus full-time on cars.
In addition to detailing, Precision Auto also provides window tinting, bed liners, truck and car accessories (including audio installation), undercoating, painting, auto body repair and full restorations from the ground up. With a crew of nine full-time employees, Miller says his niche is providing custom work. "We all love what we do," he said.
Miller considers himself a good resource when people are feeling out a problem. If they can't do it there, he will refer them to someone who can. "I spread the wealth," notes Miller. But with providing custom work, there is a lot the shop can do. Miller gave an example of his shop's painter doing a custom helmet for a new goalie for the Springfield Junior Blues. Come to them with a project, and they will do their best to supply a solution.
Miller attributes his success to using only high-quality products in his shop, as well as his exceptional customer service. "Everything we use are normally top-of-the-line products," says Miller. "We stay up on the times and what products are the best. I think that keeps us up there. Also, the way we do things. We love cars. We love what we're doing."
