Having just opened in May, Biscuits & Brunch by Three Twigs is very new to the Springfield scene but has already made quite a name for itself. It is no surprise, then, that it snagged a win for this category.
Biscuits & Brunch is a counter-service restaurant that focuses on classic brunch dishes, which are given their own unique spin, and everything is made from scratch. Biscuits & Brunch uses Three Twigs Bakery biscuits and also features a pastry case full of other delectable goodies from Three Twigs. One of the perks of owning multiple businesses is the type of synergy that owners Emily and Tim Lewis have going on here. In addition, the Lewises have now taken over the former CherryBerry space next door and transformed it into The Salted Lemon – Market & Creamery.
Biscuits & Brunch frequently features new dishes offered as daily specials, such as the recently featured al pastor pork biscuits (spicy pulled pork, guacamole, pickled red onions, cilantro and queso fresco, all on top of a buttermilk biscuit). Some of their regular offerings include the chicken biscuit (fried chicken biscuit sandwich with chipotle honey butter), the #basic (crushed black pepper bacon and cheesy egg scramble biscuit sandwich) and the lunch horseshoe (biscuit, protein of choice, hand-cut fries and smoked gouda cheese sauce). Don't pass up its famous "tomato potatoes" – smashed fried potatoes tossed in a house tomato vinaigrette and topped with scallions. They are a must try. The mac and cheese can be ordered as a side or as an entrée. Readers commented that it was some of the best they've had. We suggest you go for the entrée portion and add fried chicken to the top.
Biscuits & Brunch is currently open for breakfast and lunch hours only, but held a pop-up dinner earlier this month at the request of customers. Who doesn't love brunch for dinner? We hope they do it again.
