Currently traveling all around the Midwest, West Coast and Canada from their music-soaked hometown of Detroit, Michigan, this soul-infused, funky blues band is making sounds while making the rounds. With the imminent Laura on sublime vocals, backed by husband and collaborator George Friend on guitar, plus Jeff Powe (drums/bass), Jonathan Staten (drums) and Jim Alfredson (keys), the group merges “Memphis soul, juke-joint blues and tough Detroit funk and R&B” into a powerful and unique creation nightly on the stage and regularly in the studio. With the release of Walk with Me in 2017, Laura and crew charted new heights on the “Roots Music Report” while garnering more national attention among fans and critics alike, adding to the awards and accolades achieved with 2015’s Gold, the singer’s third album. Each new record is a step forward for modern music all immersed in the vintage, classic sounds of the days when music was cool beyond belief and performed with integrity and honesty for the good of the listener and the soul of the singer.
