Roaring up from St. Louis and out into the world, the Jeremiah Johnson Band is poised to set the world on fire with a burning passion for the hot rockin’ Americana blues. Jeremiah, born and raised in St. Louis, moved to Houston in 1999 and scored high in a blues contest there three years in a row. After returning to St. Louis in 2009, a blend of his Texas-electric blues style with a Mississippi River blues sound defined the attitude and tone of this driven and focused modern rocker as a singing, songwriting, guitar-slinging bluesman. With Johnson on lead guitar and vocals, the added musicianship of Frank Bauer (saxophone, vocals), Benet Schaeffer (drums), Tony Anthonis (bass) and Tom Maloney (bass, rhythm/slide guitar) brings the “Band” part of the equation to life. His most recent record, Straightjacket (produced by Mike Zito for Ruf Records), came out swinging, debuting at #6 on the Billboard Blues Chart and just this week hit #11 on the Roots Music Report Top Blues Rock Album Chart. Go, Jeremiah, go!
