Brushfire

Get a good look at how it happens, folks, as Brushfire, a locally based “upbeat rockin’ country” band makes a splash in the scene. Formed a few years ago, the boys are booked solid through the summer and beyond at places like Country Fest 2012 in Wisconsin, where superstars Brad Paisley and Keith Urban headline, the Illinois State Fair, Menard, Ford, Livingston and Henry County fairs and all kinds of small town fests throughout the near Midwest. Members Brett Gillan, Kirk Ellis, Dustin Reynolds, Marc Broomby and Darin Holthaus just returned from a show at the famed Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville last weekend. Competing with 350 other bands over several weeks, Brushfire won the 2012 Battle for the Saddle contest and the grand prize included the Wildhorse spot headlining the “New Faces” show directly after a Luke Bryan concert at LP Field during CMA week. No plans yet to move to Music City, USA, for a big-time push, but look for their debut EP by fall and lots of other good stuff happening.
