Beatles tribute band to play Fab Four's hits, Christmas tunes

The music of the Beatles and Christmas meet this Sunday at UIS Performing Arts Center, when Abbey Road presents its one-night show, Christmas With The Beatles. The show, appropriate for all ages, promises to be a magical night of fun as Abbey Road features all of the Beatles' top songs as well as mash-ups of holiday classics. "With their tight harmonies, flawless note for note renditions of Beatles hits, custom-tailored costumes, vintage instruments, Liverpudlian dialect and precise attention to every detail, Abbey Road has honed their show to become one of the most musically and visually satisfying Beatle tribute acts in the world," according to the band's bio. The show includes the band members' impressions of all four Beatles, on-stage banter and even costume changes featuring clothes from different periods of the band's history. In addition, members of the Illinois Symphony Youth Orchestra String Quartet will join Abbey Road on four songs including "Eleanor Rigby" and "Hey Jude." The students are Madeline Bollman of Chatham Glenwood High School, Madelyn Beck and Finn Powell of Springfield High School and Clare Specketer of Havana High School. Tickets range in price from $28.50 to $78.50.
