Selected results of the 2014 general election are represented in the map below.Â
Because the county is divided into several districts, voters in some precincts did not have the option of voting in races which weren’t statewide or countywide, such as the 13th Congressional district race.
Precincts are shaded red (Republican) or blue (Democrat) based on the average percentage each candidate received in the races for governor, U.S. Senate, 18th Congressional district, 13th Congressional district, 48th Illinois Senate district, 96th Illinois House district and Sangamon County sheriff. For example, if the Republican candidates in each race cumulatively received a larger percentage of votes than the Democratic candidates in each race, the precinct is shaded red.Â
Precinct shapes and results are courtesy of the Sangamon County Clerk’s office, www.sangamoncountyclerk.com. Results were collected Nov. 11 and are unofficial until approved by the canvassing board. Results do not include write-in, mail-in or provisional ballots.
