SPECIAL K’s

The Ketchum Five danced their way onto the IT cover last winter [see
“Happy feats,” Jan. 17], and when we bumped into them this
week, we found they’re still boppin’ along to a booming beat.

Halley, the oldest Ketchum, moved up and out of
Springfield in August after graduating from Webster University in St.
Louis. She works in New York City as a research technician with the Albert
Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and performs with Kelley
Donovan and Dancers.

Hannah, the next in line, dances as a junior at
Eastern Illinois University, while Harrison and Hamilton, a senior and a
sophomore at Springfield High School, continue to dance with Dance
Creations Dance Studio. Harrison hopes to leave the capital city behind to
study musical performance at either Ball State University or Berklee
College of Music in Boston next fall.

Harmony, the youngest Ketchum, might be the most
dedicated eighth-grader we’ve ever seen. She’s making a name
for herself at DCDS and actively working to connect the dance studio with
local organizations that help needy newborns.

Mom Linda says, “We are very proud of all of
them.”
