We can hope that peace in Ukraine will become an issue in the upcoming U.S. presidential campaign. So far, the Ukraine war has the support of the left side of U.S. politics, with growing opposition from the right. But as the military stalemate continues, as the death toll mounts and dollar costs grow, U.S. support will wane even among those most outraged by Russia's invasion. As Russia courts North Korea for ammo, German tanks and Danish F-16s aren't getting the job done for Ukraine. It is time for Western leaders and diplomats to start getting creative about how to get Russia out of Ukraine, and to engineer a cease-fire. Peace with justice comes later, after the killing stops. – Fletcher Farrar, editor
