How would you like to own a mustang for just $25? That’s right! While the federal government’s so-called “cash for clunkers” rebates, which provide people with a $4,500 incentive to replace their old gas
guzzlers with more efficient newer model cars, get all the press, few people
know about a cheaper — and even greener transportation program. The U.S. Department of Interior is
bringing back its wild horse and burro adoption program to central Illinois. On
Friday, Aug. 7, and Saturday, Aug. 8, filly-philes can get their pick from
among 60 equines at an adoption event in Bloomington. Fees range from $25 for
older horses to $125 for a horse under three years of age (mileage may vary)
and adopters must have appropriate-sized corrals. Check
