Fans of local music happenings should be quite familiar with the name Thornhill and the consistently fine music made by the band led by singer, songwriter, guitarist and performer, Tina Thornhill. Joined in song by friends and family, Joel Zulauf (guitar, vocals), Patty Kniss (drums), Lynna Thornhill (bass, vocals) and Terri Patterson (vocals), the combo plays mostly Tina’s original songs with a few classic rock numbers tossed in for good measure (we’re always down for a Thornhill version of Heart’s “Barracuda”). Sometimes they go acoustic depending on the venue and the gig, but this Saturday they’re bringing out the electric guitars and full drum kit for the complete Thornhill experience. And that, dear listeners, includes Tina’s spectacular voice joined in glorious harmony by her bandmates. Plans for the group continue through 2019 with plenty of local gigs booked, both acoustic and electric. Plus, a new full-length recording of originals songs by Tina, arranged and performed by Thornhill, is expected later this year.
