When the talk starts about up-and-coming bands in the Americana music field, The Giving Tree Band gets a mention in a big way. Paste Magazine included them as one of the “13 Emerging Bands for 2013” and they’ve charted well on radio, gotten rave reviews in major papers and generally make news wherever they play. Led by brothers “E” Fink (acoustic guitar, baritone guitar, organ, vocals) and Todd Fink (banjo, electric banjo, glockenspiel, vocals), the rest of TGTB, Phil “Sky” Roach (violin, electric guitar, vocals), Woody Woods (slide, lap steel, pedal steel, vocals), Norm Norman (mandolin, piano, vocals), Charlie Karls (bass) and Z (drums) join in to make a band brotherhood living the dream of making music together, wherever they go. The instrumental array brings a variety of virtuosity to the group and with four singers the harmonies shine. To keep the kindred spirit of the universal music spinning, they live, travel, work and play together creating a tight knit, family-like, tribal unit both on and off the stage.
