Longevity and loyalty aren’t words often associated with bands. Most groups come from members of other groups that disbanded and reformed then changed names and began again. That’s why it’s so nice to present Sleeping Dogzz celebrating 19 years together with three of the four original members still in the band and a total of only six guys ever being in the combo. Sadly, part of the tribute this Saturday is to commemorate the exit of original bass player Jon Gentry. Other original members Bill Szerletich (vocals, guitar) and Tom “Silky” Summerlin (drums, vocals) with longtime replacement Brad Allen (guitar, vocals) are joined by founding member John Oder (guitar, vocals) and Marc Watermen (12-year member on guitar, vocals) for a reunion party. Expect a big turnout from the dog pound of family, friends and fans to pay tribute to nearly two decades of rocking the classic rock Dogzz-y style. And expect the Dogzz to only be taking a nap until they return with another bassist to continue the run for who knows how long.
