What do you call a bunch of Springfield musicians who’ve played in bands for years, who like to get a little crazy and who love to push the musical envelope? How about Off the Wall with the killer lineup of Kip Nelson on vocals, Steve Marvel on keyboards, Dereck Usher on bass, Jack Stege on guitar and Fred Edmunds on drums. They unabashedly claim to be a “party rock band” covering all types of music as long as it rocks and gets you up on the dance floor having a good time. These guys mix modern pop rock with modern country rock, toss in some classic rock, R&B and funk, along with more than a few surprises. You’ll hear songs by Bruno Mars, Pink, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, the Black Keys, CeeLo Green, Train, Neon Trees, and on and on. Just like every show, last week they played the Curve Inn’s anniversary party and got “off the wall” there.
