Ask anyone who’s seen Joe Frew perform and no longer will you wonder why this innate entertainer plays several nights a week around town. With a stable of good musicians backing him in various configurations and in varied situations, Frew puts on a show that involves bringing the audience into the performance as few area players can do. As he says on his website, “It’s all about having a good time and my goal every time we play is to do my best to make sure you go home with a smile on your face or feeling that you have been rocked to the core,” and he means it. Joined this Saturday by fellow frontman Dave Littrell (The Station, Dave Littrell Band), the two musicians played together years ago Wednesdays at Stella Blue so the Norb’s show marks a reunion of sorts. Frew also hosts open mics, performs request nights and this Friday plays a band gig at Bar None for a cystic fibrosis benefit, 5-9pm.
