Jim Scott has added much to our human consciousness in terms of song and substance, very possibly influencing your life without you knowing it. From his work as guitarist with the Paul Winter Consort and co-composer of their celebrated Missa Gaia/Earth Mass, to decades of collaboration and friendship with folk singer and humanitarian Pete Seeger, Scott continues reaching out to audiences, regularly transforming a concert into a life-changing experience. Much of his live performances happen at Unitarian Universalist gatherings, and he’s spent more than 30 years hosting concerts in these special places of peace and ministry. Jim, a prolific songwriter and song collector, compiled and published the standard Earth and Spirit Songbook through help from the UU organization many years ago, and plans are in the works for a “revision” of the book later this year. At the concert, Jim will lead in singing many of Pete’s great anthems of peace and understanding as well his own songs, so come prepared to share your voice and spirit.
