A solidified, totally on it and in it band back in 2009, Milwaukee-based quartet Herman Astro shows up ready to rock, bringing a funky attitude with a soulful edge all wrapped up in gritty guitars and a grinding groove. Stepbrothers Zachary Pluer (vocals, acoustic guitar) and Cody Calderon (drums) joined childhood friends Eric LeMieux (electric guitar) and Adam Dosemagen (bass) to create the combination that clicks on all cylinders. From an Emerging Artist Series appearance at Summerfest in 2010 to recent shows opening for national touring acts the band is on the move. Chico, the group’s latest recording project received several nominations for the Wisconsin Area Music Industry awards (WAMIs) including song, album and vocalist of the year. The Bar None show (with opening act Monica Morris) sets the fellas off on a several week tour through Tennessee and the Deep South that surfaces in the Carolinas and ends up at Louisville, Ky. Come by for some rocking good original music and send the Milwaukee boys on their merry way through the countryside with a blast and a half.
