Cats on Holiday

No doubt one of the most popular hometown bands (if not the one) in Springfield rock history, Cats on Holiday continue to draw big time, some 30 years after conception. The core group of Ted (Andon) Davis (guitar, vocals), Perry Zubeck (keyboards, vocals), Joe “T” Phegley (bass) and Ric Snow (drums) gets together occasionally to reunite the spark. From humble beginnings in Springfield bars to concert performances in 15 states, being the backup band for LaToya Jackson in Las Vegas, recording three albums of original music and starring in more than one final reunion show (hey, it worked for The Who and The Eagles and others), these Cats hardly ever took a holiday. Memorable versions of “Burning Down the House” by Talking Heads joined many other creative covers and original tunes to make a unique and functional set list. Friday’s special guests are KFD, Perry Zubeck’s latest band (with some other guys, too!), a powerhouse group on the local scene performing consistently at all the major venues in town.
