Coming from four guys who claim to be, “just some fellas from the Midwest looking to change some lives,” Blackfeet makes a statement by being vague about what they are and being good at what they do. With Mikey Barber (vocals), Nathan Harmening (guitar, vocals), Kirk Donley (bass, vocals) and Chris Florence (drums) listed as band members on the quirky quartet’s MySpace page, their “sounds like” section describes the group’s music as, “sails flapping in the wind.” But be forewarned, no recorded music is posted on the site, adding to the mystery of the band or at least providing information about their commitment (or lack thereof) to shameless self-promotion. In addition to experiencing three very cool bands at the EP release party, check out two of our best and most prolific local artists when Michael Mayosky and Felicia Olin host an art showcase during the concert. Maybe there is some life-changing activity going on here.
