Jordan Blevins opened The Spot 90’s Bar and Grill this summer in the space that formerly was home to Finley’s Tap House. The Spot is ‘90s themed, and customers will be hit with nostalgia upon entering the restaurant, with compact discs adorning the ceiling and bright-colored décor featuring movies, musicians and sports stars from the 1990s.  The restaurant’s soundtrack also is from the same decade.

Even the menu has a ’90s theme, with offerings such as the Saved by the Beef sandwich (house-smoked brisket, melted provolone, creamy horseradish and herbed au jus), the Mixtape pizza (fig jam, mozzarella, goat cheese, red onion, prosciutto, spinach and hot honey), the Smells Like Brussels Spirit appetizer (smoked bacon, sweet chili, crispy onion strings, scallions and sriracha aioli) and the Honey, I Fried The Chicken entrée (hand-battered fried chicken strips served with fries and house-made honey mustard).

Blevins said that while The Spot’s menu features bar and grill classics, it carries on the Finley’s Tap House focus on fresh ingredients.

“We want to still elevate the food and keep things fresh but get the price point down,” Blevins said at the time of the restaurant’s opening. And no worries, Finley’s popular cheese curds, now known as cheese nugz, still grace the appetizer menu.

Located on Ginger Creek Drive on Springfield’s west side, The Spot is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
