This Sunday afternoon at The Pharmacy, Nathaniel Bartlett will present his composition “trichotomic ecology.” According to Bartlett, the performance will consist of the recorded version from the album of the same name. The piece is performed on marimba, percussion, and viola along with “real-time three-dimensional, high-definition, computer-generated sound and real-time computer notation processing.”
In a statement, the composer says that listeners will be “immersed within the music both physically (via the physical-spatial positioning of the three instrumentalists and the three-dimensional computer-generated sound) and temporally (‘trichotomic ecology’ is a circa 43 minute sonic monolith).”
For further information visit Bartlett’s website at http://www.nathanielbartlett.com/ or just show up at The Pharmacy (401 S. Grand Ave. W.) at 3 PM and check it out for yourself. $5 donation requested. All ages welcome.
