Putting on the glitz

Roxy Theatricals presents nine performances of the Sunset Boulevard: The Musical on June 28-30, July 5-7 and July 11-13 at The Legacy Theatre. Rights to the show, usually only given out to professional companies, were finally granted to Roxy. Set and costumes are as glamorous as the main character, Norma Desmond, an old silent film star who still believes her light shines at its brightest when she becomes involved with scammer screenwriter Joe Gillis. The musical claimed five Tony awards including for best story and best music. If you love Andrew Lloyd Webber, this is a show you’ll want to attend. Twelve local musicians will play more than 20 instruments. Cynda Wrightsman stars as Norma Desmond with Scott Richardson directing. Bar opens 60 minutes prior to evening performances. Tickets and more details are at www.atthelegacy.com.
