unalloyedpleasure poem #2
a while ago I
spoke too soon
there are many unalloyed pleasures
in this life add in
that first painful
scrunch yes that’s a pleasure of
a
baby’s jaws clamping down on the
taut nipple of the sore and
swollen
breast then the gush of milk into
the eager mouth the babe
may choke
a moment but quickly recovers and
gets into the rhythm from
then on
its pure bliss for both sides of
the equation I always felt
ultimate
virtue nursing and reading for hours
secure in the knowledge
I was doing
absolute good in this world dishes
and dusting be damned
you guys
are missing out on this one sorry
