Molly Schlich Independent-International Film Series

This year marks the 29th annual Molly Schlich Independent International Film Series. It is sponsored by the Springfield Art Association (SAA) and proceeds benefit the Michael Victor Art Library. The series is named in honor of local resident Molly Schlich, who is passionate about international films and is devoted to bringing entertaining and challenging films to Springfield. Soon after its inception, the series came to be defined by its focus on contemporary foreign, experimental and independent filmmaking. For eight weeks each year, the SAA offers critically acclaimed films from around the world that touch on a variety of topics and with varying production styles. A series pass is available for purchase, as are individual film tickets. The SAA will have a showing of this year's film trailers and the series' feature film, Emily, at a launch party on Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. Popcorn and beverages will be served, and the event is free and open to everyone.
