Mayor Misty Buscher will host a special Veterans Day Reception on Monday, Nov. 9, honoring the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. at VFW Post 755, 2211 Old Jacksonville Road. The event is hosted by Buscher in partnership with the Veterans’ Advisory Council. The evening will feature remarks from Buscher and Fire Chief and veteran Nick Zummo, along with a special Veterans Day program recognizing the service, sacrifice and dedication of Springfield-area veterans.
“Veterans have made an extraordinary commitment to our country and our communities, and it is our privilege to come together to honor them,” said Buscher. “This reception is an opportunity to express our gratitude, recognize their service and ensure our veterans know how much they are valued by the city of Springfield.”
