Can you say cars! The Aug. 3 Powerlight Abe Lincoln Car Show Spectacular deserves that “spectacular” at the end of its title – the number and diversity of vehicles at this show is amazing. Metal includes the Brandt consolidated Justin Allgaier #31 Nationwide series show car; Hoosier tire drag racing car; Sangamon County sheriff land assault vehicle; Illinois State police rollover vehicle; 17 replica movie cars including the old and new Transformers Bumblebee, Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am, Back to the Future Delorean, Christine, Starsky and Hutch, two American Graffiti cars, Duck Dynasty truck and more; 12 specialty vehicles including Benchmark super Jeep, 2 Brothers Custom Trucks monster trucks and American Cancer Society special edition Camaro and much more. Plus, there’s metal in the air – an Air Evac helicopter will flyover and land. Admission is free for spectators. You might want to try your hand and feet at the Xtreme Sports rock wall for $5, too. The evening caps off with the films American Graffiti and Smokey and the Bandit at the Route 66 Twin Drive-in.
