You know him and you love him and now a version of Shrek you probably haven’t seen is coming to the Hoogland Center for the Arts. Shrek the Musical runs March 21-23 and 28-30. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film that you also love, the laughs and music take to the stage. If you’re not familiar with this green ogre and his love, Fiona, princess turned ogre, the fairytale is set in a faraway kingdom and includes a smart and funny sidekick donkey, too. Directed by Matthew Vala and Mary Kate Smith, Shrek is Matthew Vala; Fiona is Abbey Peecher; Donkey, Tyler Maul. A fun Fairytale Party is planned for March 22 and March 30, 5:30-6:30 p.m., and includes a meal, sundae bar, fairytale games, prizes for best dressed, a meet-and-greet with the cast, and performance tickets. The cost for the party is $31, $22 for children under 5.
