Breath in fresh air and creativity at Lincoln Memorial Garden at its popular Art in the Garden Saturday, Apr. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day includes artists painting who welcome visitors to chat and watch them in action along the winding trails. The kids can try their hand at en plein air painting and nature-related art activities in an expanded youth program thanks to Springfield Art Association and Prairie Art Alliance. The Nature Center houses a Juried Art Exhibition. A wine and cheese reception and awards ceremony proceeds from 4-6 p.m. Except for award-winning art, all art can be bid on in a silent auction at the Nature Center. The exhibition is on display through May 5, Tues.-Sat., 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sun., 1-4 p.m. The rain date for Art in the Garden is April 29. Two other options for people who cannot attend Art in the Garden but want to own art from the event and exhibit, include bidding online or at Lunch in Bloom Sunday, May 6, where the silent auction continues and a live auction will take place.
