This is probably the most interesting and handsome book to come out of central Illinois recently. The author will talk about and read from the book on Sat., Sept. 7, 2 p.m,. at the Vachel Lindsay Home.
You’ll want to own this collection about historic homes and the folks who lived in them. From Springfield to Shelbyville, Bloomington and beyond (there’s a section on the White House and the various presidents and first ladies who lived there), each structure’s story is told through poem, short historical essay and photo.
This is Dan’s 10th book. He is Millikin University professor emeritus with a dazzling list of accolades and awards to his name. You’ll also want him to sign your book. And he’ll be happy to do just that. Besides being a grand craftsman of words, he is a really nice guy.
