Autism Support of Central Illinois

Part of the mission of Autism Support of Central Illinois (ASCI) is to provide sensory-friendly events, grants, access to resources, support and educational programming for children with autism and their families.  The services provided by ASCI are made possible by fundraising efforts and through donations.  The hallmark of their educational programming is Camp ASPIRE, a six-week summer camp in June and July.  Sensory-friendly social events sponsored by ASCI include a variety of activities such as movies, bowling, skating and glow golf in addition to three major holiday events. All of the events are free (concessions are often available for a cost) to children with autism and their families.  This week, Kidzeum of Health and Sciences will host ASCI and will turn down the lights and noises to allow children with sensory differences and mobility issues to explore and discover the galleries at their own pace.
