Habitat for Humanity of Sangamon County has been awarded $26,000 from Make an Impact to support its Mission in Motion initiative, strengthening transportation capacity and community services throughout Sangamon County.
Make an Impact is a Springfield-based charitable organization that raises funds to support area nonprofits. The donation to Habitat will support the purchase of an additional truck and vehicle branding, helping Habitat expand its transportation capacity for community services, including ReStore donation pickups and the large item pickup service.
“We are incredibly grateful to Make an Impact for believing in our mission and investing in the work we do throughout Sangamon County,” said Candace Silas, executive director and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Sangamon County.
“This gift is about so much more than purchasing a truck,” she said. “It’s about strengthening our ability to serve our neighbors, support cleaner communities and continue creating opportunities for affordable housing. When organizations come together with a shared purpose, the impact reaches far beyond the dollars given.”
A check presentation took place Nov. 6 at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and administrative office, located at 2744 S. Sixth St. in Springfield.
