Week in and week out, the staff writers at Illinois Times bring the world of central Illinois politics and culture to life with in-depth reporting and commentary on the most important, unusual and entertaining things happening in this part of the world.
But after the deadline, who are these writers? With the backdrop of all the events and issues covered in the paper, what makes them tick? How do they spend their time when not bringing the Springfield area to life? What do they read? Where do they go? When’s lunch? (Okay, I just threw that last question in there – force of journalistic habit.)
Every week, “IT: Off The Clock” will be your opportunity to see another, more personal side of the IT. It will also be a great chance for us to let our hair down and delve into some subjects that might fall outside of our usual “beats.”
Personal observations, cultural recommendations, out of the way experiences, culinary experiments – pretty much anything goes.
In the long run, we hope it’ll allow for some lively dialog to open up between IT and its readership (that’s you!)
