Those who are promoting the notion of
“intelligent design” contend that human beings are the product
of a supreme intelligent designer. If that’s so, how do they explain
Pat Robertson? Goofier than a whole barrelful of monkeys, this guy
keeps making absolutely moronic statements that defy the existence of any
intelligence whatsoever. The televangelist’s latest is a diatribe on
who is to blame for Hurricane Katrina. Robertson doesn’t finger the
incompetents at FEMA, and certainly not his political buddy George W. Bush.
Guess who the villain is? Ellen DeGeneres! Yes, he insists that the devastation is the fault of
the TV comedienne, who recently hosted the Emmy Awards. You see, Ellen also
happens to be a lesbian, and — get this — she is from New
Orleans. So one of Pat’s brain cells clicked with the other one, and
he connected Ellen, the Emmys, New Orleans, and Katrina into a biblical
cataclysm. Let’s hear his “thinking” in his
own words: “By choosing an avowed lesbian for this national event,
these Hollywood elites have clearly invited God’s wrath. Is it any
surprise that the Almighty chose to strike at Miss DeGeneres’
hometown?” he thundered on his TV show. Then Pat got kookier, noting that Ellen had also
fronted the Emmys shortly before the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America:
“This is the second time in a row that God has invoked a disaster
shortly before lesbian Ellen DeGeneres hosted the Emmy Awards,”
Robertson bellowed, adding that “America is waiting for her to
apologize for the death and destruction that her sexual deviance has
brought onto this great nation.”
Pat also blames Ellen for the deadly insurgency in
Iraq! The only thing he has not laid at her lesbian feet so far is his own
loopiness. Show me even one monkey who would claim kinship to this
goofball.
