FREE BEDS

On March 4, Slumberland Furniture and the Parent Help Line at St. John’s Children Hospital will be teaming up to donate 40 free twin bed mattresses, box springs and bed frames to families in need. The Parent Help Line will also donate a set of sheets to each family that qualifies. To apply, individual families or agencies can contact Stacey Boll from the Parent Help Line at  217-494-2431 or by email at saboll@comcast.net.  The Parent Help Line has supported families through its phone line, providing tips and resources for 20 years. “We think this is a great program,” says Gail Gauen, director at the Parent Help Line. “A good night’s sleep contributes to a kid’s performance in school and their future.” The bed giveaway will start at 11 a.m. on March 4 and will take place at Slumberland, located at 2450 Chuckwagon Drive. The deadline to apply is Monday, Feb. 29.
