Looking for a way to give back but afraid of commitment? If you can handle volunteering for one day, you can join more than 7,000 Comcast employees, from Illinois, northwest Indiana and southwest Michigan in a day of service called Comcast Cares Day. The annual event gathers Comcast employees and their families, friends and community partners for service projects across the region. Now in its 14th year, the event will include 80 projects in Illinois, including two in Springfield. On April 23, volunteers will go to the Central Illinois Food Bank, 1937 E. Cook St., at 8 a.m. to sort foot, organize items into boxes, bag fresh produce and clean up the warehouse. April 25 will see volunteers heading to the Boy’s and Girl’s Club Camp Lake, 300 N. 15th St., at 8 a.m. for several clean-up projects. For more information, visit www.comcastinthecommunity.com.
