Around since 1997, the Timmys still play fast and furious fun songs in punkster fashion. Led by that fine figure of a man, Robbie Kording, on vocals, the rest of the band (as of this moment) is Brandon Carnes (bass), Tyler Orton (guitar), Wes Selinger (drums) and Ian Kelley (guitar). After a relatively quiet spell in 2010 the band is all over the place celebrating the release of an EP/CD titled “That’ll Do” with a full-length recording in the works for later this year. Last week’s agenda included a Bar None appearance with MAG and this Saturday they hang with Nil8 in St. Louis. On Friday the Black Sheep Café all ages show features the resurrection of the fabulously fun Gunga Dins. After nearly 14 years of “playing nothing but loud/fast songs, filling them with funny and not-so-serious lyrics and partying harder than all the other bands in town,” the Timmys are claiming to be “expanding our sound by writing smarter and better songs.” Let’s see if “that’ll do.”
