Blowing in from Charleston, Illinois, this devilish duo from the dark side of the shadowy streets brings a boisterous barrage that chews up the raunchy, randy, raucous and rockin’ stuff, then spits it out for you to enjoy. Self-described as a “seedy film noir pop duo” with a “sound and aesthetic that combines femme fatale jazz and the seediest of 60s pop,” Keri Cousins provides the “sultry rhythms” on a drum set sans toms as Scott Walus plays the “narcotic melodies” on a well-worn Hagstrom 8-string bass (using EADG octaves, if you’re keeping score). They’ve released two full-length albums on Cavetone Records and one 7″ single to complete a catalog void of diabolical digital doings and all-in on vinyl to emphasize the two’s commitment to a “maximum minimalism” that led others to dub their music as “jazz for dirtbags” or “punk for beatniks.” Come join the fun, if you care to dare.
