A Springfield-based, indie-rock group citing heavy influences from the hip-hop, R&B and rap genres, the SOHI House Band plays a rather different role than most local music groups. Signed to Midwest record label HISO Music in 2015, band mates Matt Wingo (drums, keys, vocals), Aaron Carbonell (bass) and T Bakes (guitar) back up the roster of HISO Music vocalists and rap artists to make performances come alive for these recording acts not usually accompanied by a live band. The Bar None appearance, first stop for the HISO Music “Cabin Fever” tour, brings together several artists on the label such as RJC, Jayy Wills, Dramara, Phileo, Ssain and Ayo. The show goes on with upcoming performances in St. Louis, Indianapolis and Chicago, just for starters. Chicago Loud 9, SOHO music festival headliners for 2015, close out the Jan. 29 date.
