Relatively new on the Springfield band scene, Ryman’s Way takes their name from the Ryman Auditorium, the renowned building in Nashville that housed the Grand Ole Opry for decades during the heyday of classic country music. The venue again hosts live music, still inspiring thousands of performers and fans, just like it inspires bandmates Larry Robbins (drums), Adam Rice (vocals, guitar), Verl Prather (vocals, bass) and Steve Harbin (vocals, lead guitar, harmonica). Blessed with three equally strong lead vocalists, the quartet gets the advantage in diversity by using Adam (from Decatur), Verl (from Springfield) and Steve (from Greenview) to range from old country to classic rock and blues, plus a bunch of places in between as Larry (from Sherman) holds down the beat on whatever the guys can sing. By doing songs that are familiar, feel-good numbers from artists such as Haggard, Hank, Cash, CCR, Skynyrd, the Who and Petty, the hardworking band can play in front of all kinds of crowds varying in ages and tastes, and that could include you.
