On the road for their Writer’s Block Tour, national rap stars Ras Kass and Copywrite started in Yuma, Ariz., last week and continue to travel the country making a stop at Bar None during Torch Tuesday’s weekly hip-hop night. Ras Kass, formerly of the hip-hop supergroup The HRSMN along with Canibus, Killah Priest and Kurupt, worked with such luminaries in the business as Snoop Dogg, Twista, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Dr. Dre, Da Beatminerz and Coolio. His debut single, “Remain Anonymous,” put him on the map and he began contributing lyric raps to the recordings of others. During his burgeoning career as a stellar rap and hip-hop artist, Pitchfork Media gave him credit as “one of the best rappers of all time.” Copywrite, originally of the MHz (MegaHertz) crew, spent time in the company of artists such as RJD2, J Dilla, The Weathermen, Evidence, Royce da 5’9”, Dilated Peoples, Thirstin Howl III, Rocktight and Cool & Dre. He hails from Columbus, Ohio, with a firm status as a top-notch underground scene rapper.
