Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys

On the trail of making marvelous music since 1988, Robert “Big Sandy” Williams brings the boys back to town one more time for a go around the stage. The 2016 tour takes the fellers across the U.S. and back again from Los Angeles to Brooklyn, Maine to New Mexico, Nashville to Springfield, and plenty of places and stage stops in between. The last album, What A Dream It’s Been, was a celebration of 25 years of on the road and makes number 14 in a long line of “undiluted, joyful music pulled from rockabilly, rock and roll, honky-tonk, rhythm and blues, soul and doo-wop” as the wags are wont to say. Always expect a cool vibe from these purveyors of the American-made music found in the roots of our raisins. Danceable but powerful and dependable while groovin’ and movin,’ Big Sandy keeps things in the pocket with an assertion of what good music can be by any definition of the matter.
