Just off exit 82 on I-55 south sits a 25,000-square-foot, two-level store where you can find just about anything, it seems.

Opened in September of 2020, Tammi’s Treasures, Antiques and More has survived the pandemic and is coming off one of its best years ever. Owner Tammi Little and her husband bought at auction the building that formerly housed Lisa’s Antiques, and they added a second floor crammed full of just about everything you could imagine.

Little’s store has 85 booths and 42 showcases, which she rents out to about 75 vendors. Little makes money from renting out the space, and the vendors keep the money from things they sell. Little does own many pieces of merchandise in the store, however.

Little said many of her customers like to look for something that reminds them of their youth, but she said more and more young people have become customers, too.

“I think they like to see if they can find some good bargains for household things, which we have, and they like to see things from the past,” Little said.

Little also owns another antique store, Sweet Pea’s, nearby. The road where the stores stand is a part of the original Route 66, and so more people are finding the store because of the increased number of tourists commemorating the 100th birthday of the Mother Road.

“I think people who just like to walk around and browse are our typical customer,” Little said. “You can get things delivered to your door now, but I think a lot of people just like to try and make it kind of like a treasure hunt. That explains the name a little, doesn’t it?”
