Ryan Electrical Solutions has built a solid reputation, providing residential and commercial electrical service, generators and audio/visual systems. In business for nearly 30 years, the company has grown to 40 employees.
According to Ann Getz, whose father, Dennis Ryan, started the business in 1994, "When we ask new customers, they tell us it is word-of-mouth reviews of good experiences that they hear."
When thousands of Sangamon County residents were without electricity in the aftermath of severe storms earlier this year, Ryan's generators division was plenty busy, with calls from customers desperate to get their homes and businesses up and running. Naturally, the idea of adding gas or propane-powered generators seemed like an attractive solution.
"Some people who called for an estimate did not realize that many factors go into the pricing for back-up generators," Getz said. In addition to the size of a building, the necessary capacity is determined by the type and number of vital appliances the user might want to have powered. "Many people don't realize that a generator is a machine just like your car, which needs ongoing annual or semi-annual maintenance, like oil changes and parts updating and repair on a regular basis," she said.
Beyond electrical service for existing locations, Ryan provides expert service in new construction and solar installations, home and business theater systems, exterior accent lighting, security cameras, structured cabling and data center build-out.
