Ninth Annual Lincoln LecturesCelebrate the 208th birthday of Abraham Lincoln and the 50th anniversary of the founding of Lincoln Land Community College by attending the Lincoln Legacy Lectures on Monday, Feb. 13, 9 a.m., at LLCC’s Trutter Center. This panel event features presentations and commentary from three Lincoln experts along with moderation by John Squibb, LLCC professor emeritus of history. This year’s theme, “Working Together for the Lincoln Legacy,” was designed to spark broad conversation about the life of Abraham Lincoln and the various organizations that work hard to keep Lincoln’s legacy alive today. Panelists include Alan C. Lowe, executive director of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum; Kathryn Harris, the first female and African-American president of the Abraham Lincoln Association; and Samuel Wheeler, the 10th Illinois state historian in state history. Questions about the Lincoln Legacy Lectures can be directed to Lincoln Land Community College at 786-2200.
