Most people are familiar with Habitat for Humanity’s mission to create and sustain housing, in partnership with the community, for those in need. In Sangamon County, the local branch has a yearly fundraiser that helps fund that mission. This year’s event, the 10th annual Raise the Roof!, allows participants to relive the excitement of their favorite TV game shows while contributing to the good cause. For a $25 donation, the event includes dinner from Taco Gringo and a chance to participate in versions of the popular shows “Chain Reaction,” “Password,” “The Price is Right,” “Pyramid” and “Family Feud.” Former longtime radio personality Jim Leach will host the competitions. Donations will help the organization “create ripples of positive change that extend far beyond” the event. To reserve a spot, call Habitat for Humanity or email executive director Colleen Stone.
