found these from my dad Ron Dougan
in an old letter sent my kids: “The world’s
a MESS! Too bad I’m not going to be
around to straighten it out!” and “Some
day I’ll be an old man. I’m not looking
forward to it!” He sometimes shared his
nighttime visions: “I dreamt I was cloned
and all around were lots of Ron Dougans
looking just like me. I’d talk to one and
everything I had to say he already knew.
I’d ask another a question, something I
really wanted to know, and he’d say, ‘I
dunno.’ Anything I knew, they knew, and
anything I didn’t know, they didn’t either.
I was so bored I was glad to wake up.”
