The public is invited to a free evening of supernatural sensations brought to them by the folks at Benedictine University’s Quiddity, an international literary journal whose companion component includes a broadcasted program and reading series on WUIS Public Radio. The ghostly gala celebrates the release of the latest journal issue and includes: group dancing with lessons and calls by the Springfield International Folk Dancers, a bewitching interactive discussion about the Midwest Gothic literary tradition facilitated by author and award-winning editor Jodee Stanley, a new art exhibit by Springfield artist Felicia Olin, music, hors d’oeuvres, beverages and perhaps a few haunts from the suspected haunted halls of the Italianate mansion. Organizers’ suggestion for dress is cocktail, costume or casual with a mask. Costumes do not have to be ball dress.
