Aug. 31 through Sept. 3 is the 14th Annual Prairieland Chautauqua at the Community Park in Jacksonville. This year’s theme is “Women Who Made History.” Under the big tent will be presentations by reenactors, storytelling, lectures, music, dance and nightly communal suppers. The four-day event features Ben Bedford, Brian Fox Ellis, Betty Carlson Kay, Debra Connor, Chris Everett, Kathryn Harris, Karen Vuranch, The Capital Chamber Singers, Sherri Mitchell, Leslie Goddard, Terri Benz, Loretta Widdows and The Gospel Gals. Sponsors are The Morgan Country Historical Society and the Illinois Humanities Council.
