FUNDRAISERS | Awesome aircraft and cars on display in one place
Like to check out cool cars and planes? See both in one place this weekend as EAA Chapter 770 of Springfield hosts this fourth annual event. More than 200 cars and more than 20 planes are expected. Converge on the Stellar Aviation Hangar for displays, exhibits and much more. This year a group of seven to nine Rutan Long-EZ homebuilt aircraft will fly in formation over the airport and then land and be on display. The event also will include food for sale and helicopter rides on a Cobra and classic Huey. The event is a fundraiser that benefits the chapter’s Aviation Scholarship Program. Over the past five years, the chapter has awarded seven aviation scholarships. All seven recipients completed the program and earned their private pilot certifications.
