SPECIAL MUSIC EVENTS | Renowned folk duo to play, hold book signing event
Gary and Roberta Gordon, a folk duo from Sparta, Illinois, will play at this matinee show which will double as a book signing for Roberta’s work, Creative Nature. The couple, who have been active in folk and bluegrass music since the 1970s, have toured the U.S. and Europe as The Gordons and have released several albums. Gary plays guitar and Roberta plays autoharp. Both sing. Creative Nature is a book of Roberta’s poetry and she illustrated each work. Tom Irwin, Illinois Times’ long-runningmusic columnist, will also have his recent book, One for the Kiddos, available. Coffee and refreshments will be available. Roberta’s bringing cookies, too.
